Synthese et proprietes biologiques du (±)-O-methylsativan

(±)-O-méthylsativan, 7,2′,4′-trimethoxyisoflavan was prepared by hydroboration followed by chromic acid oxidation of 4-hydroxy-3(2′,4′-dimethoxy,phenyl)7-methoxycoumarin. At increasing concentrations this compound modifies the metabolism of Phytophthora parasitica and then stops its growth. Under the same conditions, it strongly inhibits the activity of pectic transeliminases and, to a less extent, the activities of pectic hydrolases and β-glucosidase.
