| Abstract: | Three species of umbilicate lichen genus Rhizoplaca have been known in the Holarctic region so far, such as Rh. melanophthalma (Ram.) Leuckert et Poelt, Rh. chrysoleuca (Sm.) Zopf, and Rh. peltata (Ram.) Leuckert et Poelt. (Leuckert et al. 1977. p. 72-73). Five taxa of the genus in China are given in the present paper. Among them one taxon has been changed in status from specific to the name of variety [Rh. peltata var regalis (H. Magn.) Wei], one species is new to China (Rh. melanoph- thalma), and one is new to science (Rh. huashanensis Wei). Key to the species is given: 1. Disc greenish, green-yellowish, brownish, dark brown to black, but never orange. 2. Disc brownish, but never black; thallus below coarse, containing zeorin………… …………………………………………………………………………………………………Rh.peltata 2.
