Negative regulators of programed cell death.

Abstract:During animal development many cells undergo programed deaths. Recently, genes that suppress the cell-death program have been described in both vertebrates and invertebrates. These genes play a vital role in regulation of the molecules that kill cells, and disruption of this regulatory process can contribute to disease.
