Abstract:In this paper, the resting-state visual network of the anisometropic amblyopia patients was studied and the influence of anisometropic amblyopia on different level of visual cortex was assessed using the resting-state functional MRI. Independent component analysis (ICA) was used to separate the fMRI data of 8 patients with anisometropic amblyopia and 11 healthy controls, and a goodness-of-fit analysis was applied at the individual subject level to choose the resting-state visual network. Intra-group analysis and inter-group analysis were performed. The results show that there are remarkable deficits on different levels of visual cortex in anisometropic amblyopia predominantly in the extrastriate cortex rather than the striate cortex. The resting-state fMRI provides a new way to investigate visual cortex deficits in amblyopia.
Keywords:independent component analysis  resting-state functional MRI  visual network  anisometropic amblyopia
