Preparation of conditioned medium to stimulate anthocyanin production using suspension cultures of Fragaria ananassa cells

Abstract:A conditioned medium (CM) prepared from strawberry suspension cultures greatly stimulated anthocyanin accumulation. CM separated by dialysis membrane showed a significant increase (p 0.05) in anthocyanin synthesis at a fraction smaller than 10,000 Da. The stimulation by CM was eliminated when the CM was treated with alkali.
