Trapping and Scattering of a Relativistic Charged Particle by Resonance in a Magnetic Field and an Electromagnetic Wave

Abstract:A study is made of the dynamics of a relativistic charged particle in an electromagnetic wave (with an electrostatic component) in a constant uniform magnetic field. A system with a high-frequency wave is a Hamiltonian system with two degrees of freedom and with fast and slow variables. The trapping of a particle into resonance and its scattering on resonance in such a system is described.
