A theoretical analysis of the multiple binding of palmitate by bovine serum albumin: the relationship to uptake of free fatty acids by tissues.

Rb⁸⁶ efflux has been measured from voltage-clamped frog sciatic nerves. At zero potential the fluxes were positively coupled in accordance with the long pore model with the number of sites being two. At resting potential, negative coupling was observed. This type of flux interaction was blocked by DNP. Exchange carriers were interpreted as the transport mechanism responsible for the negative coupling.
