Abstract:Fossil pollen grains of Quercus L. were studied with application of an EVO 40 scanning electron microscope. The material came from Holocene core samples from deep water zone of the south of the Sea of Japan and shelf zone of East Korea Bay. The pollen grains were obtained from three radiocarbon-dated palynological assemblages. Six types of fossil pollen grains were revealed: four of them were assigned to deciduous oaks and two were assigned to evergreen oaks.
