| Abstract: | A new steroidal glycoside, agaveside D, isolated from the fruits of Agave cantata was characterized as 3β-{α--rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2), β--glycopyranosyl-(1→3)-β--glucopyranosyl[β- -xylopyransoyl-(1→4)-α--rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)]-β--glucopyranosyl}-25R-5α- spirostane on the basis of chemical degradation and spectrometry. |
