Abstract: | A factor with functional properties similar to bacterial G has been isolated and partially purified from rat liver 100,000 g supernatant. The liver factor is able to stimulate phenylalanine polymerization in the presence of ribosomes and saturating amounts of T factor from Escherichia coli. When a calcium phosphate gel preparation from rat liver is fractionated by DEAE-Sephadex chromatography the “G-like” activity clearly dissociates from the peak of mammalian T2, being eluted at higher salt concentrations. |
