Abstract: | By using a gas balance technique, the effective oxidative phosphorylation ratio in glucose-limited continuous cultures of Candida parapsilosis was calculated to be 2.4 +/- 0.2. When this value was used, the molar growth yield with respect to adenosine 5'-triphosphate was found to be 10 g of cells produced per mol of ATP. |
