Abstract: | Large crystals of lipase from Pseudomonas cepacia have been grown at room temperature from solutions containing 2-methyl-2,4-pentanediol and sodium citrate. They grow within two weeks to typical dimensions of 1.0 mm x 0.5 mm x 0.3 mm. The crystals belong to the monoclinic space group P2(1), with unit cell parameters a = 84.91 A, b = 47.33 A, c = 86.00 A, and beta = 116.09 degrees. And they diffract to about 1.6 A upon exposure to synchroton X-rays. X-ray data have been collected to 2.2 A Bragg spacing from a native crystal. |
