Abstract:Variations in some grain and quality characters in progenies of regenerated rice plants were studied. Grain length and weight decreased significantly, yet gel consistency increased. Variations in these quantitative characters of all cultivars studied were consistent, showing the tendencies of the variations. Grain protein contents of the somaclones were higher in one cultivar. Variability of most traits was increased by combining low-dosage radiation and tissue culture.
