| Abstract: | Summary The application of fixed film and CSTR reactor-systems for the treatment of stillage from wood hydrolysates was studied in laboratory units at 35° and 55°C. Organic loads of 10.7 (10) gCOD/l/d with COD-reduction of 86.6 (84.4)% and a biogas production rate of 400 (380) ml/ gCOD with 63 (62) % methane were feasible using fixed film systems, whereas organic loads with CSTR reactor-systems were only 2.4 gCOD/l/day. |
