Abstract: | Seven daughter strains of BCG were characterized by restriction fragment analysis with the enzymes BstEII, PvuII and BclI. Comparisons of fragment patterns confirmed that BCG is correctly classified as a Mycobacterium bovis variant and suggested that the Swedish strain is most closely related to the original BCG strain. |
