Abstract:The survival of Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger in O/W creams with different types and concentrations of parabens was studied. The survival was not only dependent on the type and concentration of the preservative, but also on the size of the inoculum. The results are relevant for future proposals for compendial challenge tests.
