Abstract: | Abstract Cu2+ induced an efflux of potassium, inorganic phosphate, 260 nm-absorbing materials and ribose-containing molecules in Pseudomonas syringae . No detectable amounts of aspartic and glutamic acids leaked from the cells. It is proposed that the release of inorganic phosphate and other low molecular mass anionic metabolites probably played a role in re-equilibrating the internal charge balance after the exit of K+ ions. |
