| Abstract: | Summary Effects of the glucose antimetabolite, 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2DG) on liquid-holding reactivation (LHR) in X-irradiated yeast cells were studied. It has been observed that LHR in respiratory-deficient mutants is completely inhibited at a molar concentration ratio 2DG/glucose equal to 1, whereas for the wild-type this ratio is 10. Significance of these results for a radiochemotherapy of tumors is discussed.Dedicated to Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. B. Rajewsky on the occasion of his 80th birthday. |
