| Abstract: | Intact and castrated male rats were injected with a single dose of estrogen (75 μg), followed by progesterone (1 mg) or by oil. Intact males showed higher lordosis quotients as compared to castrated males. Progesterone facilitated lordosis behavior in castrated as well as in intact males. An estrogen-progesterone treated group of sexually inactive male rats and of sexually exhausted males showed lower levels of lordosis as compared to the intact sexually active males. |
