Ricinus communis agglutinin B chain contains a fucosylated oligosaccharide side chain not present on ricin B chain

Ricinus communis agglutinin (RCA) B chain, in contrast to ricin B chain, contains fucose. Since both RCA and ricin B chain lose two oligosaccharide side chains when treated with β-endo N-acetylglucosaminidase H, it is proposed that fucose is present on a third oligosaccharide.
