Abstract: | The cancer-associated gene (CAGE) is a novel cancer/testis antigen. Over-expression of it increased phosphorylation of focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and enhanced motility of SNU387 cells. Focal adhesion, kinase-related non-kinase (FRNK), an endogenous inhibitor of FAK, was significantly suppressed. This suggests that CAGE-promoted motility requires FAK. The inhibition of Rho-Associated coiled-coil-containing protein kinase (ROCK), an activator of FAK, also suppressed CAGE-promoted motility. |
