Abstract: | Experiments done in aquaria under control and either turbid or densely vegetated conditions indicated that three‐spined stickleback Gasterosteus aculeatus sneaking behaviour is affected by decreased underwater visibility. Success of sneaking behaviour decreased significantly under increased turbidity but not increased vegetation density. The total number of sneaking attempts, including unsuccessful ones, was not affected by either form of decreasing visibility. |
