Studies on the Naphthaquinone Constituents of Onosma confertum W. W. Smith and Quantitative Determination of Shikonin

Four compounds were isolated from Onosma confertum W. W. Smith. They were identified as deoxyshikonine (Ⅰ), β, β-dimethylacrylshkonin (Ⅱ), acetylshikonine (Ⅲ) and shikonin (Ⅳ) according to their physical and chemical constants from MS, IR, 1H-NMR, CD-HPLC determination. The total quantity of shikonin obtained after basic hydrolysis of its derivatives was determined.
