| Abstract: | The levels of the deoxynucleoside phosphokinases have been determined during the cell cycle in synchronous cultures of HeLa cells. Deoxycytidine and thymidine phosphokinases showed temporally similar periodic fluctuations while the purine deoxynucleoside phosphokinases showed a constant high activity. Experiments with metabolic inhibitors suggest that the observed rise in thymidine phosphokinase activity is directly due to the enzyme's biosynthesis. |
