| Abstract: | Here we report the characterization of the type-1 isopentenyl diphosphate isomerase derived from Halobacterium sp. NRC-1. The expressed purified enzyme showed maximum isomerase activity in the presence of 1 M NaCl at 37 degrees C at pH 6.0. This type-1 enzyme appears to be the first for which the Co2+ ion is required for activity. |
