Abstract: | In non-pregnant goat luteolysis is characterized by a decline in peripheral plasma progesterone level and increased peripheral plasma concentrations of testosterone (T) and 5 alpha-dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Daily oral doses of furazolidone (80 mg/kg) between days 10 and 16 delayed luteolysis and suppressed both the decline in progesterone concentrations and the increase in T and DHT level. |
