| Abstract: | Nitrate reductase (NR) was assayed in vivo in cassava (Manihotesculenta Crantz). Activity in the leaves ranged from 0 to 2.51µmole of NO3– reduced g–1 h–1, withno activity in the younger leaves (leaf 1 on top). NR activitywas localized in the sides and toward the tip of the lobes ofthe leaf. (Received December 10, 1985; Accepted April 8, 1986) |
