Abstract: | We offered Australian tropical stingless bees (Trigona hockingsi) artificial nectar (30% sucrose w/v) either with or without added amino acids (3.30 mM). Bees showed no preference for nectar type, suggesting that sugars, rather than amino acids, play a greater role in nectar choice by this species. |
