Abstract: | Summary In Schizosaccharomyces pombe the experiments performed in order to assess some possible influence of caffeine on biological processes related to the induced or spontaneous mutations and meiotic recombinations, have shown that caffeine decreases UV- and NG-induced forward mutations at ad-6 and ad-7 loci and UV-induced reverse-mutations of his
