Abstract: | Vgamma2Vdelta2(+) T cells exist only in primates and constitute the majority of circulating human gammadelta T cells. Recent studies have demonstrated that this unique gammadelta T cell subpopulation can be a component of adaptive immune responses and contribute to anti-microbial immunity to infections. |
