Abstract:The distribution patterns of 51Cr-labeled lymphoid cells from normal C3H and tumor-bearing 6C3HED mice were studied by the method of Bainbridge and Gowland (1). An increased localization of normal recirculating lymphocytes was observed in draining lymph nodes of tumor bearing animals which reached a maximum of 8.4% by the 8th–10th day following transplantation. The proportion of recirculating cells from draining nodes of tumor-bearing animals decreased with the progression of the tumor although their actual numbers increased. This decrease is thought to be related to the invasion of draining nodes by tumor cells.
