| Abstract: | Methyltransferase genes from the FnuDI, NaeI, NcoI, and XbaI restriction-modification systems have been isolated in Escherichia coli by 'shot-gun' cloning bacterial DNA fragments into plasmid vectors and selecting for protectively modified molecules that resist digestion by the corresponding restriction endonuclease. |
