Morphology and function of the spinning apparatus of the wolf spider Pardosa amentata (Cl.) (Araneae,Lycosidae)

Abstract:The histology of the four types of silk gland, occurring in the wolf spider Pardosa amentata are given. The changes in epithelium height, lumen breadth and size of the granules were studied in relation to silk production in the sub-adult and adult stage of the life-cycle.
