Abstract: | Ethanol supplementation to the growth medium of Microsporum gypseum and Microsporum cookie resulted in changes in phospholipid composition and degree of unsaturation of their fatty acids without affecting the growth rate of the organism. Phosphatidylethanolamine increased with a simultaneous decrease in phosphatidylserine. Unsaturated fatty acids of total phospholipids decreased significantly which was primarily due to the decreased levels of linoleic acid.Abbreviations CL Cardiolipin - LPC Lysophosphatidylcholine - PC Phosphatidylcholine - PE Phosphatidylethanolamine - PI Phosphatidylinositol - PS Phosphatidylserine - UK Unknown phospholipids |
