Abstract: | Organelles are reaction vessels containing metabolic pathways. As in a chemical factory, the size of the reaction vessels limits the rate of product formation. Organelle size is tuned to metabolic needs, hence reprogramming organelle size could be a novel therapeutic strategy as well as a new tool for metabolic engineering. |
