| Abstract: | Neuronal and glial fractions were isolated from the CNS of Manduca sexta. The addition of serotonin caused a significant increase in the cyclic AMP levels in both fractions. A lesser increase in cyclic AMP occurred in the presence of norepinephrine. None of the neurotransmitters examined had any appreciable effect on the levels of cyclic GMP. |
