Systematics of yeast species in the Candida parapsilosis group

Summary The systematics ofCandida species that may or may not ferment carbohydrates and which assimilate trehalose, xylose, and mannitol, but do not assimilate lactose, melibiose, raffinose, inositol, dulcitol, or KNO₃ were examined. Included were:C. albicans, C. albicans var.stellatoidea, C. diddensii, C. bogoriensis, C. claussenii, C. lusilaniae, C. natalensis, C. obtusa, C. oregonensis, C. parapsilosis, C. parapsilosis var.querci, C. polymorpha, C. pulcherrima. C. reukaufii, C. solani, C. tropicalis, C. tropicalis var.lambica andC. viswanathii.
