Abstract: | Summary Nagumo's nerve conduction equation has travelling wave solutions of pulse type and periodic wave type. We consider the stability of the latter ones. We denote byL(c) the minimum spatial period of a periodic travelling wave solution whose propagation speed isc. It is shown that this travelling wave solution is unstable ifL′(c)<0. |
