| Abstract: | Surface modification methods can optimise the biocompatibility or the specificity of biointeraction of a biosensor or medical device. With only the surface modified, the manufacture and implantation protocol remain unchanged. This review article summarises some of the chemical, surface analytical and biological challenges associated with surface modification of biosensors and biomedical devices. |
