Abstract: | When seedlings of the winter wheat cultivars Cappelle-Desprez, Champlein and Hybrid 46 were artificially infected with mycelial inoculum of Cercosporella herpotrichoides Fron, the number of leaf sheaths penetrated by the pathogen increased with temperature over the range 6-18oC. Rate of growth of the pathogen on agar also increased with temperature over this range. Temperature had little effect on differences between cultivars in number of leaf sheaths penetrated. |
