Abstract: | As a result of varying several components, a medium has beendeveloped which sustains fast continuous growth of small potatobuds in tissue culture. Growth-rates were increased with highconcentrations of inorganic nutrients. Gibberellic acid and8-hydroxyquinoline were required for the maintenance of thestem organization. In the absence of gibberellic acid the apicalmeristem degenerated to a callus. Without 8-hydroxyquinolinegrowth stopped when the stem was 610 mm long. Growthwas faster following addition of indole-3-acetic acid. |
