| Abstract: | Replacing the sugar-phosphodiester backbone of nucleic acids with a pyrrolidine-amide backbone results in an oligonucleotide mimic POM 1 which binds with high affinity and specificity to complementary DNA and RNA. Unlike other modified oligonucleotides, POM binds much more rapidly to single stranded RNA than DNA. |
