Abstract: | The comparative study of E. coli endo-, neuro- and enterotoxins has revealed that there are pronounced differences between them not only in their biological activity tested on the corresponding experimental models, but also in their chemical composition and biochemical characteristics. Electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel has disclosed the presence of "specific" protein and polysaccharide fractions in these toxins, which can serve as an additional criterion for their differentiation. |
