Abstract:Oxeiptosis was a newly-defined regulated cell death(RCD) in recent years. The characterization of oxeiptosis was reactive oxygen species(ROS)-induced Caspase-independent apoptosis-like cell death. Oxeiptosis was featured with unique inducer(ROS), key genes and cellular signaling pathway(KEAP1-PGAM5-AIFM1). There were significant differences with necrosis, apoptosis, necroptosis, pyroptosis, and ferroptosis. This review summarized the history, characteristics, key signaling pathway and differentiation with types of cell death.
