Abstract: | The feeding of the endemic freshwater fish Scardinius acarnanicus Stephanidis, 1939 has been studied from the content of its intestine and from the results of feeding experiments in the laboratory. This species appears to be phytoplanktophagous when young, whereas as an adult, it becomes macrophytophagous. No difference was observed in the diet of males and females. |
