Abstract:Intestinal flora is a general term for a variety of microbial communities, including bacteria, fungi and viruses, which colonize the host's intestinal tract and form a complex symbiotic relationship with the host, playing an important role in maintaining human health. In recent years, the regulation of bone metabolism by intestinal flora has become a hot research topic. In addition to the influence of intestinal flora on bone metabolism, the metabolites of intestinal flora can also affect bone metabolism. The metabolites of intestinal flora, such as short-chain fatty acid, tryptophan, bile acid, hydrogen sulfide and vitamin B, have direct or indirect effects on bone metabolism. In this paper, the mechanism of intestinal microbiota metabolites affecting bone metabolism was discussed to provide new ideas for the treatment of osteoporosis.
Keywords:Osteoporosis  Intestinal flora  Metabolites
