Abstract: | A complex technique for pulmonary circulation study involving catheterization of pulmonary artery and transbronchial electroplethysmography has been tested in rats. The technique permits pulmonary artery pressure measurement and registration of electrical resistance in the lung lobe of closed-chest animals with the subsequent estimation of blood flow, blood volume and air content in the lungs expressed in adequate units per unit of organ volume. The experimental data characterizing standard values of the above parameters in rats are presented. |
