Abstract: | Continuous cardiac output (CCO) pulmonary artery catheters (PACs) are used in cardiac surgical patients for hemodynamic monitoring. This is an invasive technique; therefore, it has well-known mechanical and infectious complications related to its use. Associated problems, more commonly noticed, are catheter malfunctions and malpositions. We present a case in which a CCO catheter appeared to have a double body on radiologic diagnosis. This resulted in extra radiography for rechecking and careful clinical reevaluation of the monitored data. |
