Abstract:Hypocotyls from annatto seedlings, were inoculated with Agrobacterium tumefaciens harboring a binary vector, pBI.121 or pCAMBIA2301, containing the beta-glucuronidase (gus) gene. Histochemical GUS assay of infected hypocotyls from two annatto varieties showed transient gus gene expression between 3 and 12 days after inoculation. These authors contributed equally to this work.)
