| Abstract: | A pyrenomycete featuring uniperitheciate stromata embedded in a subiculum and asci with iodine-positive apical ascal rings that bear scolecosporous ascospores is described as new. The fungus, Ophiorosellinia costaricensis, is known only from the type location in Costa Rica. It has been cultured, but no anamorph was discovered. |
